| Abstract: | Describes differential ablation rates on this debris-covered glacier, and compares and contrasts results with those from similar investigations situated within and outside this region. Direct measurements indicated sharp increase in ablation as debris-cover thickness increased from 0 to 10 mm, followed by decrease in ablation as debris cover increased beyond 10 mm until critical thickness of 30 mm when any further ablation is suppressed from that expected on debris-free ice. |
