Record #126770:

Application of a conceptual precipitation-runoff model in the Langtang Khola basin, Nepal Himalaya / L. Braun, W.E. Grabs, B. Rana.

Title: Application of a conceptual precipitation-runoff model in the Langtang Khola basin, Nepal Himalaya / L. Braun, W.E. Grabs, B. Rana.
Author(s): Braun, L.
Grabs, W. E.
Rana, B.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Wallingford, Oxfordshire: IAHS Press
In: Snow and glacier hydrology. Proceedings of an International Symposium held at Kathmandu, Nepal, 16-21 November 1992. (1993.),
Abstract: HBV3-ETH (Swiss) model was applied to 38% glacierized basin. This allows simulation of snow storage and glacier mass balance as well as daily discharge. Suggests that 1985-86 experiemced double precipitation and runoff as next three years. Two-thirds of basin precipitation falls as snow. Debris-covered parts of glaciers are especially sensitive with respect to modelled daily discharge. Independent verifications required to confirm usefulness of model.
