Record #126654:

Thermoluminescence profiles in meteorite finds, climatic change, and ice thicknesses in the Allan Hills, Antarctica, during the Quaternary / Paul H. Benoit, Derek W.G. Sears.

Title: Thermoluminescence profiles in meteorite finds, climatic change, and ice thicknesses in the Allan Hills, Antarctica, during the Quaternary / Paul H. Benoit, Derek W.G. Sears.
Author(s): Benoit, Paul H.
Sears, Derek W. G.
Date: 1993[pub.1994]
In: Antarctic Journal of the United States. (1993[pub.1994]), Vol. 28(5) (1993[pub.1994])
Abstract: There is some question as to how central Antarctic ice sheet, as opposed to outlet glaciers and ice of Ross embayment, has responded to climatic variation. Terrestrial thermal profiles of one particular meteorite were examined, as this is related to its terrestrial age and thermal history, and implications for icefield on which it was found are discussed. Concludes that ice thickness of this region has been within few 100 m of present value over last 100 ka, despite glacial--interglacial cycles.
