Studies of blowing snow at Halley, Antarctica / P.S. Anderson, S.E. Dover, S.D. Mobbs, J.C. King, J.M. Rees.
Title: | Studies of blowing snow at Halley, Antarctica / P.S. Anderson, S.E. Dover, S.D. Mobbs, J.C. King, J.M. Rees. |
Author(s): | Anderson, P. S. Dover, S. E. Mobbs, S. D. King, J. C. Rees, J. M. |
Date: | [1993] |
Publisher: | Boston, MA: American Meteorological Society |
In: | Fourth International Conference on Southern Hemisphere Meteorology and Oceanography, March 29--April 2, 1993, Hobart, Australia. A Joint Meeting of the American Meteorological Society and the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society. Preprints. ([1993]), |
Abstract: | Uses fundamental physical principles to derive model equations describing transport of snow and other quantities. These equations are not amenable to analytical treatment and so numerical method of solution has been developed. This type of theoretical model requires field data, for determination of physical parameters and to validate results. During 1991, series of experiments was conducted to study dynamics of blowing snow; these are outlined. |
