Record #126531:

Ice-core sulfate from three northern hemisphere sites: source and temperature forcing implications / Paul A. Mayewski, and 7 others.

Title: Ice-core sulfate from three northern hemisphere sites: source and temperature forcing implications / Paul A. Mayewski, and 7 others.
Author(s): Mayewski, Paul A.
Date: 1993.
Abstract: Comparison of ice-core non-sea salt (nss) sulphate records from two sites in Greenland and one on Mt Logan, Yukon Territory, with temperature-change records for these regions provides further confirmation that change in concentration of anthropogenic sulphate has had significant effect on regional temperature during period from 1940 to 1970 over Atlantic portion of Arctic (at least). Using 1880-1985 portion of ice-core records as analogue, test of potential temperature depression caused by nss sulphate aerosols over Greenland during period from 700 to 1900 indicates that anthropogenic era is unique by comparison.
