Record #126446:

Indikationer på bottenfrusner glaciärer på hög höjd i Sarek / Olaf Svenningsen.

Title: Indikationer på bottenfrusner glaciärer på hög höjd i Sarek / Olaf Svenningsen.
Translated title: Indications of bottom-frozen glaciers at a high altitude in Sarek.
Author(s): Svenningsen, Olaf.
Date: 1993.
Language: Swedish.
In: Svensk Geografisk Årsbok. (1993.), Vol. 69 (1993)
Abstract: In Sarek national park, northern Sweden, dykes and sedimentary rocks suggest no significant glacial transport, whereas presence of erratic boulders does. This apparently contradictory evidence is explained if glaciers are cold-based at higher altitudes: base will be frozen and preserve its substrate, but upper moving parts will transport material. When ice melts, erratics will be deposited on intact substrate.
