Record #126406:

Experimental studies on ice segregation and the modes of frost heaving / Ruijie Chen, Kaoru Horiguchi.

Title: Experimental studies on ice segregation and the modes of frost heaving / Ruijie Chen, Kaoru Horiguchi.
Author(s): Chen, Ruijie.
Horiguchi, Kaoru.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Wushan, Guangzhou: South China University of Technology Press
In: Permafrost. Sixth International Conference. Proceedings (Vol. 2), July 5-9, 1993, Beijing China. (1993.),
Abstract: Temperature gradient across warm side of ice lens has long been considered as driving force of water flow. Experiments were carried out in which ice lens grew without temperature gradient in soil. Comparison between ice intrusion temperature and equilibrium temperature indicated that frost heave occurring naturally is primary heaving.
Notes:

In: Permafrost. Sixth International Conference. Proceedings (Vol. 2), July 5-9, 1993, Beijing China / International Conference on Permafrost.

Keywords: 551.34 -- Geocryology. Frozen ground.
551.343 -- Periglacial processes. Thermokarst.
E8 -- Glaciology: frost action and permafrost.
