| Abstract: | Presents results of frost-heave tests conducted under thawing conditions, and discusses process of ice-lens formation under thawing conditions. Tensile strength of freezing porous material may play part in determining suction pressure at growing ice surface and may control ice-lens initiation and continuous growth. |
