| Abstract: | Discusses activities of International Permafrost Association's (IPA) Working Group on Mountain Permafrost, which, together with IPA Working Group on Periglacial Environments, arranged international workshops in Switzerland in 1991 and in Canada in 1992. These meetings enabled exchanges of information between specialists and assessed state of knowledge in these fields. This article attempts to review and draw main conclusions from these reflections, and makes some recommendations for future work. |
