Record #126361:

Distribution and abundance of microbial biomass in Rocky Mountain spring snowpacks / P.D. Brooks, S.K. Schmidt, R.A. Sommerfeld, R.C. Musselman.

Title: Distribution and abundance of microbial biomass in Rocky Mountain spring snowpacks / P.D. Brooks, S.K. Schmidt, R.A. Sommerfeld, R.C. Musselman.
Author(s): Brooks, P. D.
Schmidt, S. K.
Sommerfeld, R. A.
Musselman, R. C.
Date: [1993]
In: Eastern Snow Conference. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol. 50th Annual Meeting ([1993])
Abstract: Spatial and temporal variations in microbial distribution within Colorado and Wyoming snowpacks were examined with reference to: relationship of microbial populations in snow to CO₂ fluxes from it; relationship between distribution of organisms to chemical composition of snow; relative importance of bacteria vs fungi within snow; and possibility of microorganisms in snow acting as sink for inorganic nitrogen deposited in snowpack over winter.
Notes:

Eastern Snow Conference. Proceedings. Vol. 50th Annual Meeting :301-306 ([1993]).

Joint Meeting with 61st Western Snow Conference.
