Record #126350:

Snowpack stratigraphy evolution at forested and open sites / M.R. Albert, J.P. Hardy.

Title: Snowpack stratigraphy evolution at forested and open sites / M.R. Albert, J.P. Hardy.
Author(s): Albert, M. R.
Hardy, J. P.
Date: [1993]
In: Eastern Snow Conference. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol. 50th Annual Meeting ([1993])
Abstract: Discusses results of field observations for winter 1992-93 in northern Vermont. Predominant stratigraphic features of both sites were similar, although snow can have dramatically different behaviour in response to tree- and slope-induced local differences. Differences in solar radiation produced differences in early snow cover, which controlled formation and nature of basal ice layer that remained throughout season.
Notes:

Eastern Snow Conference. Proceedings. Vol. 50th Annual Meeting :205-212 ([1993]).

Joint Meeting with 61st Western Snow Conference.
