| Abstract: | Snow estimation and updating system (SEUS) uses geographic information system to store, analyze and display gridded, point and line data, such as elevation, basin boundaries and snow observations. System has calibration component to define basin-specific components, operational component to ingest real-time data and calculate gridded SWE estimates, and updating component to incorporate ground-based SWE estimates into conceptual hydrologic model. Reviews system implementation and results of operational testing during 1993. |
