Record #126332:

Estimating localized SWE on the Yellowstone northern range / Phillip E. Farnes, W.H. Romme.

Title: Estimating localized SWE on the Yellowstone northern range / Phillip E. Farnes, W.H. Romme.
Author(s): Farnes, Phillip E.
Romme, W. H.
Date: [1993]
In: Eastern Snow Conference. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol. 50th Annual Meeting ([1993])
Abstract: Estimation of snow water equivalent at any location on northern winter range near national park was required by ungulate researchers. SWE information is needed to explain previous or current animal sightings; and to predict location, migration, forage availability and utilization, feeding patterns and mortality of wildlife under various snow patterns. Possible changes in winter travel routes could also be predicted. Techniques and relationships developed here would be transferable to other intermountain areas that accumulate winter snowpack and have daily climatic and/or snow pillow data.
