Glaciotectonic data base and mapping of North America / James S. Aber, John P. Bluemle, Julie Brigham-Grette, L.A. Dredge, David J. Sauchyn, David L. Ackerman.

Title: Glaciotectonic data base and mapping of North America / James S. Aber, John P. Bluemle, Julie Brigham-Grette, L.A. Dredge, David J. Sauchyn, David L. Ackerman.
Author(s): Aber, James S.
Bluemle, John P.
Brigham-Grette, Julie.
Dredge, L. A.
Sauchyn, David J.
Ackerman, David L.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Regina, Saskatchewan: University of Regina, Canadian Plains Research Center
In: Glaciotectonics and mapping glacial deposits. Proceedings of the INQUA Commission on Formation and Properties of Glacial Deposits. (1993.),
Abstract: Database was constructed in 1990-93 at University of Regina, using ARC/INFO computer-based geographical information system. Summarizes procedures, techniques and products of mapping project. Distribution of glaciotectonic features over continent are related, in general, to presence of deformable substrata. They are particularly abundant over northern Great Plains, where ice sheets advanced upslope over soft substratum. Basement faults and seismic zones, induced by glacial loading and unloading, are common in regions of hard bedrock. Includes references used for database as well as those cited in text.
