Record #126247:

Salt diapirs, pore-water traps and permafrost as key controls for glaciotectonism in the Kiel area, northwestern Germany / Jan A. Piotrowski.

Title: Salt diapirs, pore-water traps and permafrost as key controls for glaciotectonism in the Kiel area, northwestern Germany / Jan A. Piotrowski.
Author(s): Piotrowski, Jan A.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Regina, Saskatchewan: University of Regina, Canadian Plains Research Center
In: Glaciotectonics and mapping glacial deposits. Proceedings of the INQUA Commission on Formation and Properties of Glacial Deposits. (1993.),
Abstract: Among mechanisms responsible for glaciotectonic deformation in this area, presence of heavily diapirized Permian salt structures in substratum, discontinuous confined aquifers of Weichselian age (pore-water traps), and permafrost wedge in front of Weichselian ice sheet seem to have been important.
