Record #126245:

Relationship of large-scale glaciotectonic features to substratum and bedrock conditions in central and eastern Poland / Hanna Ruszczyńska-Szenajch.

Title: Relationship of large-scale glaciotectonic features to substratum and bedrock conditions in central and eastern Poland / Hanna Ruszczyńska-Szenajch.
Author(s): Ruszczyńska-Szenajch, Hanna.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Regina, Saskatchewan: University of Regina, Canadian Plains Research Center
In: Glaciotectonics and mapping glacial deposits. Proceedings of the INQUA Commission on Formation and Properties of Glacial Deposits. (1993.),
Abstract: Deals with properties of substratum, particularly lithology and relief of deformable sediments and underlying rocks. Five factors are discussed: occurrence of deformable sediments underlain by consolidated rocks with contact inclined upglacier; zones of sharp lithological differences parallel to ice front; occurrence of sediments susceptible to diapirism; zones of positive heat anomalies; and morphological obstacles. Two or more of these may operate in combination.
