Record #126221:

Effects of foundation insulation and thermosyphons on permafrost / Frank Donald Haynes.

Title: Effects of foundation insulation and thermosyphons on permafrost / Frank Donald Haynes.
Author(s): Haynes, Frank Donald.
Date: 1993.
In: CRREL Special Report. (1993.), Vol. 93-22 (1993)
Abstract: Rigid board insulation is commonly used in foundations of buildings located in ice-rich permafrost. Effect of insulation thickness is investigated by finite element analysis. Thermosyphons, placed between insulation and underlying permafrost at power plant building at Gakona, south-central Alaska, are included in analysis. Effect of insulation placed on perimeter of building is also analyzed.
