Abstract: Reports experimental study of freezing of water in closed tube cooled from outer surface of tube. Found that pressure increases monotonically due to volume expansion accompanied by liquid--solid phase change. Sufficient rise of pressure is predominant for freezing of water in tube with small inner diameter and thick wall. However, freezing is not influenced by tube length within range of present experimental conditions. Confirms that temperature at freezing front is in thermodynamic equilibrium.
