Record #126210:

Stability of thick ice formation in pipes / M.R. Albert, D.B. Olfe.

Title: Stability of thick ice formation in pipes / M.R. Albert, D.B. Olfe.
Author(s): Albert, M. R.
Olfe, D. B.
Date: 1993.
In: CRREL Special Report. (1993.), Vol. 93-22 (1993)
Abstract: Under some flow and temperature conditions, ice in rivers, channels and pipes exhibits irregular or wavy profile at ice/water interface, due to thermal interaction between moving interface and flow over it. This analysis investigates thermal stability of small-amplitude, sinusoidal perturbation of ice/water interface in cylindrical geometries such as pipes. Focus is on effects due to conduction through ice.
