Record #126171:

Oscillatory modes of behavior in a simple model of the Atlantic thermohaline circulation / K. Sakai, W. Richard Peltier.

Title: Oscillatory modes of behavior in a simple model of the Atlantic thermohaline circulation / K. Sakai, W. Richard Peltier.
Author(s): Sakai, K.
Peltier, W. Richard.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Berlin: Springer
In: Ice in the climate system. (1993.),
Abstract: Presents new model which focuses on nature of internal variability that is supported when thermal and haline Rayleigh numbers are set to sufficiently high values to induce mean circulation which matches that of modern Atlantic basin. Purpose is to understand whether internal variability bears any resemblance to long-term variability of climate in North Atlantic that has been inferred from analysis of ocygen isotope records from Greenland ice cores.
