Record #126168:
Younger Dryas experiments / Daniel G. Wright, Thomas F. Stocker.
Title: | Younger Dryas experiments / Daniel G. Wright, Thomas F. Stocker. |
Author(s): | Wright, Daniel G. Stocker, Thomas F. |
Date: | 1993. |
Publisher: | Berlin: Springer |
In: | Ice in the climate system. (1993.), |
Abstract: | Examines influence of meltwater on steady-state solution of simple coupled global ocean--atmosphere--sea-ice model. After discussing idealized model used, typical solution of model and its response to meltwater input is examined. Next, alternative spin-up procedure for model is introduced, which allows greater flexibility in initiation of experiments, and uses this approach to examine sensitivity of model results to changes in atmospheric branch of hydrological cycle. Lastly, discusses some important model idealizations and uncertainties, and summarizes results. |
