Record #126162:

Climate model studies of interactions between ice sheets and the atmosphere--ocean system / A.J. Broccoli, S. Manabe.

Title: Climate model studies of interactions between ice sheets and the atmosphere--ocean system / A.J. Broccoli, S. Manabe.
Author(s): Broccoli, A. J.
Manabe, S.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Berlin: Springer
In: Ice in the climate system. (1993.),
Abstract: Reviews results of climate modelling studies carried out at Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory, Princeton University. Substantial changes in atmospheric circulation, location and intensity of storm tracks, precipitation distribution, sea-surface temperature, sea-ice extent, and soil moisture occur in response to ice sheets of last glacial maximum (LGM). Estimates of mass budgets of these ice sheets suggest that they are not in equilibrium with simulated climate at LGM, although questions regarding refreezing of surface meltwater make this result uncertain.
