Abstract: | Describes new method of image reconstruction which allows enhanced-resolution images to be produced from gridded C-band scatterometer data from active microwave instrument (AMI) carried by ERS-1 satellite. Resulting images are weekly averages which improve nominal resolution of 50 km to one of 14 km. Results show that this enhanced-resolution technique complements and enhances lower frequency temporal and spatial coverage of high-resolution SAR images from Antarctica. |
