Abstract: | δ¹³C and δ¹⁸O values from calcite and dolomite were found for 229 sedimentary carbonate rock samples from Palaeoproterozoic supracrustal belts of Fennoscandian Shield. In addition δ¹³C values of organic carbon were analysed for 28 black shale samples collected from formations directly connected to selected sedimentary carbonate units. Author comments on results and ties burial of organic carbon to rise in atmospheric oxygen at about 2.0Ga. |
