| Abstract: | Identifies major processes controlling existence of large intercontinental glaciation system on basis of glaciological, meteorological, actinometric, geochemical and isotope analysis, as well as field observations and statistical analyses. Field experiments included meteorological conditions, radiation and heat balance components, and accumulation and ablation in different weather conditions and in different areas of glacier. Delineates zone of ice formation and develops method for estimating water exchange in system, with possibility of short- and long-term forecasting of components. |
