Late Tertiary Antarctic paleoclimate and ice-sheet dynamics inferred from surficial deposits in Wright Valley / Brenda L. Hall, George H. Denton, Daniel R. Lux, James G. Bockheim.

Title: Late Tertiary Antarctic paleoclimate and ice-sheet dynamics inferred from surficial deposits in Wright Valley / Brenda L. Hall, George H. Denton, Daniel R. Lux, James G. Bockheim.
Author(s): Hall, Brenda L.

Date: 1993.
In: Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (1993.), Vol. 75A(4) (1993)
Abstract: Evidence from drift deposits shows neither Pliocene ice-sheet overriding of Transantarctic Mountains during last 3.8 Ma, nor warming sufficient to impose extensive melting margins on glaciers at sea level during past 3.7 Ma. Concludes that Pliocene collapse of east Antarctic ice sheet after 3.7 Ma is unlikely, and supports traditional view that ice sheet has remained relative stable since Middle Miocene.
