Record #125824:

A primary study of interface conditions of ice saturated clay / Xiaozu Xu, Jiacheng Wang.

Title: A primary study of interface conditions of ice saturated clay / Xiaozu Xu, Jiacheng Wang.
Author(s): Xu, Xiaozu.
Wang, Jiacheng.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Wushan, Guangzhou: South China University of Technology Press
In: Permafrost. Sixth International Conference. Proceedings (Vol. 1), July 5-9, 1993, Beijing China. (1993.),
Abstract: Electron scanning microscope used; results show that, at certain subzero temperatures, shape and thickness of unfrozen water film surrounding soil particles changes with soil type, temperature and concentration. Shape of unfrozen water film surrounding ice-saturated clay particles can be divided into three types: smooth, winding, and overflow.
Notes:

In: Permafrost. Sixth International Conference. Proceedings (Vol. 1), July 5-9, 1993, Beijing China / International Conference on Permafrost.

Keywords: 551.34 -- Geocryology. Frozen ground.
551.345.3 -- Permafrost, composition and structure. Ice wedges.
E8 -- Glaciology: frost action and permafrost.
