Abstract: Discusses modifications to conventional heat flow models in order to determine temperature gradient in frozen fringe with sufficient accuracy and without oscillations despite spatial discretization. New technique has proven to be satisfactory approach for applying correctly segregation potential functions to soil freezing. This technique is especially applicable for soils characterized by sharp transitions between unfrozen and frozen state.
