| Abstract: | Close relation to altitude in this part of Tyan' Shan'. Lower limit of permafrost is at 3250 m a.s.l. on south-facing slope and at 2900 m a.s.l. on north-facing slope where mean annual air temperature is --2°C. Thawing starts in late April and refreezing in early November. |
