| Abstract: | Describes new map, scale 1:7.5 M, which has been prepared for fifth edition of atlas. Map shows estimated extent of permafrost in five classes; estimated relative abundance of ground ice in upper 10 to 20 m of ground as percent volume in four classes; relative abundance of ice wedges, massive ice bodies and pingos in three classes; and, at selected localities, values of permafrost thickness and shallow permafrost temperatures. |
