Abstract: Describes nature and probable history of these mounds, which have developed in mineral substrates at south end of lake. Discusses relationship to true palsas and minerogenic palsas; they differ from true palsas in absence of aquatic, fen, or sphagnum peat at surface in all stages, so that heat exchange process will be different.
