Record #125673:

Mechanics of winged cracks growing under compression / Mark Kachanov.

Title: Mechanics of winged cracks growing under compression / Mark Kachanov.
Author(s): Kachanov, Mark.
Date: [1993]
Publisher: Edmonton, Alberta: University of Alberta, Department of Civil Engineering
In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol.3.
Abstract: Brief review of some mechanical models of sliding crack, with secondary (wing) cracks growing from tips. Has been observed in ice. Drawbacks and limitations of existing models are discussed, and new model is proposed.
