Record #125666:

Use of a counter-regulating reservoir for prevention of rises in tailwater level due to ice jamming and damming / Vasili Karnovich.

Title: Use of a counter-regulating reservoir for prevention of rises in tailwater level due to ice jamming and damming / Vasili Karnovich.
Author(s): Karnovich, Vasili.
Date: [1993]
Publisher: Edmonton, Alberta: University of Alberta, Department of Civil Engineering
In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol.3.
Abstract: Discusses physical-statistical model describing processes of ice jamming and ice-dam formation and breakup downstream from hydro power plants. Construction of counter-regulating reservoir permits water discharges in tailraces to be stabilized, thus preventing ice jams.
Notes:

In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. Vol.3. / International Association for Hydraulic Research.
