Record #125665:

Physical model study of ice jamming at a low level crossing / Cliff D. Smith.

Title: Physical model study of ice jamming at a low level crossing / Cliff D. Smith.
Author(s): Smith, Cliff D.
Date: [1993]
Publisher: Edmonton, Alberta: University of Alberta, Department of Civil Engineering
In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol.3.
Abstract: Crossing for road traffic had been suggested as replacement for ferry crossings in Saskatchewan. Crossing would consist of earth fill with several culverts. Concern about potential for ice jamming during spring breakup led to physical model study, resulting in dismissal of proposal.
Notes:

In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. Vol.3. / International Association for Hydraulic Research.

Keywords: 624.145 -- Floating ice, engineering aspects.
624.145.8 -- Rivers, ice jams and their control.
E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering.
(*41) -- Canada.
(*427) -- Saskatchewan.
