Record #125662:

A laboratory investigation of the friction properties of submerged ice rubble resting on sand / Kailash C. Gulati.

Title: A laboratory investigation of the friction properties of submerged ice rubble resting on sand / Kailash C. Gulati.
Author(s): Gulati, Kailash C.
Date: [1993]
Publisher: Edmonton, Alberta: University of Alberta, Department of Civil Engineering
In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol.3.
Abstract: Based on these tests, ice-rubble friction coefficient, defined as ratio of horizontal/friction force to vertical/gravity force, was estimated in range of 0.43 to 0.80. Application to use of ice rubble as platform base for deposit of manufactured spray ice to form bottom-founded structure.
Notes:

In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. Vol.3. / International Association for Hydraulic Research.

Keywords: 624.147 -- Ice and snow as foundation and engineering materials.
551.326 -- Floating ice.
539.6 -- Ice, adhesion and friction. Regelation.
E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering.
