Record #125654:
Structure of ordinary ice Ih. Part 1: ideal structure of ice / Victor F. Petrenko.
Title: | Structure of ordinary ice Ih. Part 1: ideal structure of ice / Victor F. Petrenko. |
Author(s): | Petrenko, Victor F. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | CRREL Special Report. (1993.), Vol. 93-25 (1993) |
Abstract: | Examines defect-free structure of ice Ih, reviewing experimental results and theoretical models of arrangement of O and H atoms and electronic structure of ice. Special attention given to results of studies from last 20 years. Among experimental techniques considered are X-ray diffraction, optical absorption, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and ultraviolet optical spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, and electron spin resonance. Main subjects discussed are chemical content of ice, structure and properties of water molecules, hydrogen bonds, phase transitions, protonic disorder and electron energy spectrum of ice. |
Notes: | CRREL Special Report. Vol. 93-25 :vi, 1-21 (1993). |
Keywords: | 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.322 -- Ice and snow. 54 -- Chemistry. 548.54 -- Ice crystals, habit and appearance. E4 -- Glaciology: physics and chemistry of ice. |
