| Abstract: | Letter. Explains reasons for preference for butyl acetone (see ibid., 1991, 37(125) :170-176) instead of aqueous ethanol. Principal factors were minor yet chemically significant corrosion of ice sample and drill (leading to contamination of core), solvent penetration of core, density, viscosity, safety, and cost. |
