| Abstract: | Investigation conducted in March and April 1990 along 25 km transect from northern Richards Island to offshore on Beaufort shelf, along proposed pipeline route. Boreholes 40 to 100 m deep were drilled to recover cores for analysis. Describes permafrost conditions along transect as they relate to geological processes. Four major geological units were established between onshore and offshore, and some conclusions were drawn about nature of permafrost. |
