Record #125486:

Binge/purge oscillations of the Laurentide ice sheet as a cause of the North Atlantic's Heinrich events / Douglas R. MacAyeal.

Title: Binge/purge oscillations of the Laurentide ice sheet as a cause of the North Atlantic's Heinrich events / Douglas R. MacAyeal.
Author(s): MacAyeal, Douglas R.
Date: 1993.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1993.), Vol. 74(43, supplement) (1993)
Abstract: Abstract. Proposes that Heinrich events were caused by free oscillations in flow of Laurentide ice sheet, which arose because floor of Hudson Bay and Hudson Strait is covered with soft non-consolidated sediment which forms slippery lubricant when thawed. Describes probable course of event.
