| Abstract: | Abstract. Proposes that advance and retreat of ice streams, as bed that links them to interior ice thaws and freezes, can be likened to "inhaling" and "exhaling" of "breathing" ice sheet. Presents model which allows Laurentide ice sheet to "breathe" during recorded events of abrupt climatic change and which allows life cycles of major Laurentide ice streams to be linked. |
