Discusses results of measurement of ultrasonic p-wave velocities normal and parallel to direction of drilling to depth of 3040 m on Greenland Ice Sheet Project 2(GISP2) ice core. These measurements, made at 2.25 MHz using through-transmission geometry, reveal zones of varying physical properties within ice sheet. |
