Abstract: Summary only. Aim was to apply distributed snowmelt runoff model to basin with no continuous information on snow-covered area. Study was carried out in Takaragawa basin, upper Tone River, Japan. Meteorological data were collected hourly, and snow-covered area was estimated visually four times during snowmelt season.
