| Abstract: | Consists of cylindrical storage precipitation gauge that incorporates antifreeze solution to melt snow and quartz-crystal pressure sensor to detect mass of contained liquid. Also measures parameter related to wind speed, which is basis for catch correction. Instrument is simple, robust, and can be battery-operated. |
