Evaluation of the snow-removal options in an urban area based on the preferences of inhabitants / Kazuhiro Miyakoshi, Shoji Matsumoto.
Title: | Evaluation of the snow-removal options in an urban area based on the preferences of inhabitants / Kazuhiro Miyakoshi, Shoji Matsumoto. |
Author(s): | Miyakoshi, Kazuhiro. Matsumoto, Shoji. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1993.), Vol. 18 (1993) |
Abstract: | Identifies residents' attitudes toward snow-removal options, evaluating their preferences quantitatively by applying analytical hierarchy process method. Case study reveals that space available for walking is most important; hence, snow-thawing pipe systems score higher than snow-conveying open channels and mechanical snow removal. In evaluating house sites, frequency per season for removing snow from roof is important. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 18 :185-189 (1993). |
Keywords: | 624.14 -- Snow and ice engineering. 624.144.55 -- Snow and ice removing equipment. E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering. |
