Record #125430:

The relationship between seasonal snow cover in Japan and recent climatic change / Motoki Nishimori, Ryuichi Kawamura.

Title: The relationship between seasonal snow cover in Japan and recent climatic change / Motoki Nishimori, Ryuichi Kawamura.
Author(s): Nishimori, Motoki.
Kawamura, Ryuichi.
Date: 1993.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1993.), Vol. 18 (1993)
Abstract: Purpose of study was to clarify relationships between recent global-scale climatic change, i.e. interannual and interdecadal variability of major teleconnection patterns, and snowfall fluctuation in Japan. Found that fluctuation is closely related to long-term variations of large-scale circulation patterns. Suggests dominance of patterns such as Pacific/North American and northern Asian are responsible for the increase of snowfall in the coastal regions of Sea of Japan during cold period for Japan (1977-86)
