| Abstract: | Describes system which consists of precipitation detector capable of differentiating between solid and liquid precipitation and water gauge for detecting meltwater from roof, combined to estimate roof snow load. When calculated loads exceeds critical value, electric heater on roof is energized to melt snow. System is controlled by personal computer. |
