Record #125418:

Sea-ice growth in Ongul Strait, Antarctica / Toshiyuki Kawamura, Kay I. Ohshima, Syuki Ushio, Takatoshi Takizawa.

Title: Sea-ice growth in Ongul Strait, Antarctica / Toshiyuki Kawamura, Kay I. Ohshima, Syuki Ushio, Takatoshi Takizawa.
Author(s): Kawamura, Toshiyuki.
Ohshima, Kay I.
Ushio, Syuki.
Takizawa, Takatoshi.
Date: 1993.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1993.), Vol. 18 (1993)
Abstract: Two-year study, 1990-1991, was conducted on growth processes of sea ice in this region. Routine measurements of snow depth and ice thickness were made and sea-ice cores were collected to assess structure, temperature and salinity. Snow depth varied from 0 to 1 m. Sea ice increased in thickness in spring due to formation of snow-ice and by ice formation related to melting of snow cover.
