A meteorological estimation of relevant parameters for snow models / Y. Durand, Eric Brun, L. Merindol, Gilbert Guyomarc'h, B. Lesaffre, E. Martin.

Title: A meteorological estimation of relevant parameters for snow models / Y. Durand, Eric Brun, L. Merindol, Gilbert Guyomarc'h, B. Lesaffre, E. Martin.

In: Annals of Glaciology. (1993.), Vol. 18 (1993)
Abstract: Relevant parameters have been analyzed to provide boundary conditions in real time for energy, mass and stratigraphical model of snow cover at locations surrounded by meteorological observation points. From available data, analysis provides hourly meteorological information on every Alpine massif for six aspects at 300 m elevation intervals. Numerical snow model has been run with these data for numerous locations in French Alps during last ten years. Comparisons with observed snow characteristics (depth, stratigraphy) have proved potential of method.
