Record #125386:
Large-scale fracture of sea ice plates / Zdeněk P. Bažant.
Title: | Large-scale fracture of sea ice plates / Zdeněk P. Bažant. |
Author(s): | Bažant, Zdeněk P. |
Date: | [1993] |
Publisher: | Edmonton, Alberta: University of Alberta, Department of Civil Engineering |
In: | IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol.2. |
Abstract: | Focuses on two problems: (1) initiation of long fractures that served as triggering events for formation of leads of open water, pressure ridges and rafting, in which hypothesis is explored that these might be caused by release of energy of thermal bending moments; and (2) penetration (downward or upward) of object through floating ice plate. Discussion, Vol.3, p.1521. |
Notes: | In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. Vol.2. / International Association for Hydraulic Research. |
