Abstract: Describes methods to interpret effective strain modulus from full borehole jack indenter tests and to obtain strain modulus profiles in relatively thin ice covers using shallow indentation. Specifically, cavity expansion model for indenter is evaluated for its ability to determine strain modulus of deteriorating freshwater ice.
